Music is a vital, energetic, and exciting part of worship here at RCP.
A wide variety of choral and instrumental ensembles provide service
music on a weekly basis. All styles of sacred music, from traditional
to contemporary, are presented to the glory of God! Major choral works
including "Messiah" by G.F. Handel, "Gloria" by John Rutter, and
"A Day for Dancing" by Lloyd Pfaustsch are performed on a yearly basis.
Soloists, small vocal, and instrumental ensembles perform at regular
intervals. Musical opportunities are available for all ages!
Major performing ensembles:
“Sounds of Joy” is an SATB choral ensemble for adults. The choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7:45 to 9:00.
“Sounds of Joy” has explored virtually every style of sacred choral music over the years and provides the congregation with high quality, exciting worship music each Sunday.
“JuBellation” is the handbell ensemble at RCP. The “ringers” provide service music as an ensemble, accompany “Sounds of Joy” on special occasions, and enhance the worship experience through the unique sound of handbells and chimes.
Children’s Choirs are an opportunity to introduce interested young singers to the importance and joy of providing music for worship services. The ensemble performs on a monthly basis and prepares a special Christmas pageant during the holiday season.
Music ensembles are open to all interested musicians, regardless of background. Come join the music, fun and fellowship that membership in a music group can provide!
